The hike was definitely worth the every step! Climbing exactly 1,043 steps to reach the top of beautiful Jack’s Mountain which had breathtaking views from all directions. The small town of Mt. Union, PA (pictured above) used to be a mining town between 1900-1950. 2,000 employed miners would hike up all 1,043 steps every day, twice a day to support their families.
